About Borges Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
Humberto "Beto" Borges is a native of Brazil, hailing from Goiania, and ventured his way to the United States in 1998. In 2000, Beto began training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Romero "Jacare" Cavalcanti at the Alliance headquarters located in Atlanta, Georgia. Beto went on to win both Silver and Gold medals at the Pan-Americans in 2008 and 2009. Following the Pan-Americans, Beto was the first Brazilian awarded a Black Belt under Jacare in the United States. Since that time, Beto has trained Josh Koscheck and the AKA team in Fresno, California, for close to two years. Around mid-2012 Beto decided it was time to open his own Alliance academy. With Jacares endorsement, Beto is bringing his own Alliance school to the Northern part of Atlanta, located in Marietta. With the new school in place the seven-time world champion Alliance Team is sure to shatter new records with a force that will be stronger than ever

What sweats together, stays together!
My husband and I have been training at this place for almost as long as we've been in Georgia. Being new to the city and to the south in general, this school has become a second home. The people we train with have become friends and we wouldn't know what we'd do without this place!! The instruction is world class and the schedule works perfectly with our busy work lives! I would only recommend this place and would love to see some more women in this place! It's an amazing sport and skill!!!
Changed my life
I started out at Borges BJJ as an overweight law enforcement officer. Within six months I had lost around 40 lbs and was in the best shape of my life. Professor Humberto Borges also bolstered my confidence at work due to my newfound knowledge of self defense.
Remarkable character development and personal growth!!!
I cannot say enough good things about Borges BJJ and how I wish we would have found them sooner. Our son (6 years old) has only been training here for about 8 weeks now and has already shown an overwhelming passion for it. He’s learning various skills geared towards improving his self-esteem and a number of techniques to build his confidence both on the mat and in the real world. Also, I was instantly and continue to be impressed with the depth of knowledge with all of his trainers and their understanding to show patience as each kid learns at their own pace. The students are a direct reflection of this and show a very high level of respect the second the trainers step on the mat. The community of other parents and students is top notch as well. If you’re looking for a program that fosters personal growth and character development, I highly recommend you check them out. Take advantage of their free week trial to experience this for yourself!
A great place for your kids.
Our kids (10 and 7) have been training at Borges BJJ for a little over a year. In that time, I have watched them grow and flourish in an environment that offers consistency, essential self-defense skills and fun. Humberto and his staff truly care for their students and families. Our kids are confident and healthy from the time they spend on the mat every week. They have made great friends and love being there. The management is always approachable and will work with you to bring out the best in your child. Don't hesitate to check them out; they offer a week of free kids' classes so you can see if it's a good fit.
